Matt Litzler – President

Matt is a lifelong Cleveland area resident and is President and owner of C. A. Litzler Co., Inc., a manufacturer of custom machinery and ovens with customers around the world.  Matt has been active in the company since 1992 and held other sales positions with Sherwin Williams Paint prior to joining C. A. Litzler.  Matt is Vice Chair of the Centers For Family and Children and is actively involved in YPO (Young Presidents Organization). Matt has been an active cyclist since 1986 including all forms of racing and has visited velodromes in the US, China, Japan, and Europe.  He personally sponsors a local bicycle racing team, Team Spin/Litzler Automation.  Matt is married with three children and lives in Avon Lake, OH

Gary Burkholder – Vice President

Gary grew up in Northwest Ohio and after college relocated to the Cleveland area to pursue a career in healthcare information technology with the Cleveland Clinic.  As a Technical Specialist, he manages projects and computer systems in the Center for Pathology Informatics.  During his 8 years at Cleveland Clinic, he also worked as a Remote Access Administrator and as a Network Security Analyst.  Gary started cycling for fitness and has since developed into a competitive racer.  He enjoys road, mountain, cyclocross, and track racing.  Gary is also training for his first Half-Ironman Triathlon.  During last year’s cyclocross season he competed in several Grand Prix events and raced in Michigan, Wisconsin, Kentucky and Oregon.  Mr. Burkholder is currently pursuing a MBA in Healthcare Management at Baldwin-Wallace College and lives in Parma, Ohio.

Brett Davis – Treasurer

Brett was born and raised in Northeast Ohio and has over 18 years of professional experience in property management, commercial leasing, investment banking, and construction lending.  During his career, he has worked for a local commercial real estate developer as well as financial institutions including McDonald & Company, Fifth Third Bank and National City Bank.  He is currently a partner and President of Ironwood Development Company, a real estate development company located in Fairview Park, Ohio and Director of Acqusitions for The McGowan Companies.  Brett previously served as a trustee and treasurer for Ruffing Montessori School and the Epilepsy Association.  Mr. Davis is an avid cyclist and among other things enjoys competing in long distance mountain bike races. Brett is married with two children and resides in Chagrin Falls, Ohio.

Tom Hlavaty – Trustee

Tom is a lifelong Cleveland area resident and is owner of Hlavaty & Associates Inc CPA in Fairview Park specializing in small and start up business consulting and tax.   Tom is currently on the board of the Cleveland Area Restaurant Association, and is the Board Secretary for Linking Employment, Abilities and Potential (LEAP) an organization headquartered on West 25th Street in Cleveland serving people of any age with any disability.  Tom is also on various advisory boards for privately held businesses.  He lives in Olmsted Township and can be found after tax season cycling in the Metro Parks.

Connie Carr  – Trustee

Connie was born and raised in Northeast Ohio and for the past 11 years has been practicing corporate, finance, securities and commercial real estate law in the Cleveland area with the law firm of Seeley Savidge Ebert & Gourash.  Connie is a former board member and chairman of the Lorain Port Authority board of directors and was actively involved in public development projects. She currently chairs the board of directors of Lakeshore Community Credit Union in Avon Lake, Ohio, and is co-chair of the Real Estate Section of the Lorain County Bar Association. Connie is an active road cyclist and lives in Lorain County, Ohio.

Paul Martin – Trustee

Paul grew up, works and resides in North Royalton, where he is the owner of Pathway Financial Advisors, an investment firm he founded.  He has 18 years of experience in the financial planning industry, holds an Economics degree from Valparaiso University in Valparaiso, IN and a law degree from Cleveland State University.  Paul has raced bikes competitively for 22 years, including 4 years as a professional, has won 4 U.S. National cycling championships and is the president of NEO Cycling Development, a non-profit that operated the Netherland Rubber and Panther elite amateur cycling teams from 2009-2014. Paul and his wife Lisa have two children.

Fred Monago – Trustee

Fred has been racing bicycles and skis since Middle School in Pennsylvania. He and the family moved to the Cleveland Area in 1976. The Cleveland Wheelmen introduced him to structured training and Road / Criterium racing strategy. The Ski Industry prompted Fred to move to Vail, Colorado in the early 80’s. Living at altitude and riding over the Continental Divide as a normal training loop was great.  A move back to Cleveland, Ohio in the middle 80’s for a more permanent career involving Municipal Water and Wastewater system component marketing was selected. In 1997, Fred formed his own Company, FCM Equipment LLC, which offers representation to Process Equipment Manufacturers. His marketing territory is the Northern half of Ohio.  Fred and his wife, Marie-Louise reside in Cleveland’s Edgewater neighborhood with their two loving rescue dogs.

Peter Gutierrez – Trustee

Pete is long time resident of Northeast Ohio. He is an outside sales representative for several industrial based product lines. He used to own and manage a bicycle shop in Lorain County and was instrumental in the construction of the velodrome. Pete is a great ambassador of the velodrome and helps with Monday Night Youth programs.

Kara Carter- Trustee

Kara leads the Advancement Team at JumpStart Inc, including both the growth and execution of strategic partnerships and traditional fundraising.  Kara  also provides strategic leadership and tactical action across a broader range of activities including delivering or executing projects which create value in communities.  She also serves as a mentor to entrepreneurs in JumpStart’s Burton D. Morgan Mentoring Program. Prior to this role, Kara was director of consulting services at Orion Advisory, LLC, a management consulting practice specializing in strategic planning, business performance management, and process improvement.  She is an accomplished athlete, having run Division 1 Cross Country and Track for both the United States Air Force Academy and Northeastern University.  Her running career extended into her adult life, and she has competed in hundreds of races including 5 qualified trips to the Boston Marathon.  She began cycling in 2009, and is a road cyclist, mountain biker, and has taken Track 101 at the Velodrome.  She is a founding VeloSano Steering Committee Member, and is also a founding member and Ambassador for the VeloFemme Litzler team.  In her off hours, she is a mother of four active children in Shaker Heights and spends most of her weekends along the sidelines at hockey, field hockey, lacrosse, cross country and baseball.  

Nancy Lyon-Stadler- Trustee

Nancy is a senior principal engineer at WSP in Cleveland with 29 years of experience. Her projects typically involve traffic analysis and integrated transportation planning and design, incorporating traffic and roadway design, transit, active transportation (bicycle, pedestrian), greenway planning and complete streets. Nancy holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Virginia Tech and a M.S. in Civil Engineering from the Ohio State University. As a part of her daily life, Nancy is an ambassador and advocate for health and fitness, focusing on cycling and multisport. Nancy is especially interested in getting people interested in multisport and reaching youth, including her two boys and their athlete networks. A life-long athlete, Nancy began competing in triathlons in the late 1980s and competed in her first bike race in 2014. In addition to local and regional races, she has had the opportunity to complete in multiple national and world championship events representing the US as part of USA Triathlon’s Team USA.  She was recently selected to be a USA Triathlon Ambassador, one of 50 in the US, as part of their new outreach program for short course racing. Nancy was first exposed to the track through the first Cleveland Velodrome’s women’s clinic in 2015; she regularly incorporates track workouts as part of her training program and raced for the first time in Sept 2017.
